A little orange liqueur melted in to the white-colored
chocolate makes this straightforward mousse a stylish dessert. Try with mint or
coffee liqueur, or with fruit on the top.
Components
- 8 ounces Ghirardelli White Chocolate Powder or Baking Bar
- 2 egg whites
- 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
- 4 tablespoons orange liqueur, such as Grand Marnier
- 2 tablespoons water
Directions For You
- In double boiler over warm water, melt chocolate with liqueur and water stir lightly to combine. Awesome until chocolate mixture no more feels warm to touch. In large bowl with electric mixer, beat cream until soft peaks form fold cream into chocolate mixture.
- Check closely In large bowl with clean mixer, whisk egg-whites until soft peaks form. With rubber spatula, fold egg-whites into chocolate mixture. Divide mousse among 6 dessert bowls or glasses. Chill a minimum of one hour.
At Last Tips:
Garnish mousse with fresh particularly and blueberries,
canned mandarin orange sections, or fresh bananas.
Rather than orange liqueur, use 4 tbsps raspberry, mint or
coffee liqueur, or 4 tbsps water and 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring.
Serve mousse in Chocolate Dessert Cups.
Fold 2 tbsps chopped crystallized ginger root or 20 crushed
gingersnaps or chocolate wafer snacks into mousse together with egg-whites.
